Forged at the Intersection of Law, Lived Experience, and Systemic Change
Being Inclusive exists because inclusion, done well, changes lives. I know this not just professionally, but personally; as a neurodivergent woman, a mother, and someone who has spent over a decade working at the sharp end of discrimination law.
I’m Reena Anand. My work is driven by a single belief: inclusion is not something you do, it is who you are being.
As a qualified solicitor and former Ombudsman, I spent over a decade working at the sharp end of fairness and discrimination law – handling cases that showed me, up close, how systems can quietly fail the very people they’re designed to protect.
As a late-diagnosed AuDHD woman of South Asian heritage, I know what it costs to navigate a world not built for your brain. I understand the masks we wear, the energy that takes, and the particular weight of cultural stigma around neurodivergence. Finding the language for my own experience changed everything, and it’s part of why this work matters so much to me.
As the mother of two neurodivergent sons, I have sat where many of you are sitting. I have fought for my children in education and healthcare systems that weren’t designed with them in mind. I know the exhaustion. I know the fierce love that keeps you going anyway. It is these three streams – the professional, the personal, and the parental – that shape everything I do. They allow me to sit with a CEO in the morning, work with teachers in the afternoon, and hold space for a parent navigating a new diagnosis in the evening. Not as separate conversations, but as connected ones. Because the thread running through all of it is the same: when we create the right conditions for neurodivergent people to be themselves, everyone benefits.
